Great news about the book club. I want to put in a plug for Charlie Louvin’s autobiography Satan is Real. It’s not just a great country music book, it’s one of the best books period I have ever read. Fun if the book club got around to it someday.

Not sure I can get my head around the space Y’all set aside to vent/hate on Aldean,Wallen and Combs music and fans--
Small Town is admittedly a crappy song-- which Y’all say is falling like a rock-- speaking for myself-- I completely agree with the sentiment: elevate the great music/Artist/groups and not spend much space/time on the bad.

Always has been! btw Brother West would be an EXCELLENT guest on DRTI ZOOM or such-- his passion/love and knowledge of Music is unending. Hoping this Newsletter is able to reach a wide audience-- hopefully a true rival to the juggernaut W’all know Nashville to be! From where I’m at-- Y’all are BAD ASS at MUSIC!!! If I had to describe Y’all it would be OPEN minded with a decent bend towards Music by and for working folks and a dash of smiles/laughs and what not. The last person I voted for was Jill Stein many moons ago. If given the chance to vote for brother West-- as I say-- I’ve been ready to vote for him for years! Am I cancelled if I don’t for Biden? Over the pond, our very own musical national treasure Billy Bragg has just put out an ‘Answer Song’ to Anthony et al that is truly about labour rights and unionisation: ‘Rich Men Earning North of a Million’ - worth a read and a listen, “don’t moan, organise”✊
There is one guy who is full-on MAGA country who isn't very well known (and I hope it stays that way)who has to be hands down the single WORST Country artist of all time-Buddy Brown. His 2014 song "If this Country Still Had Balls" is pretty much pro-lynching and you can tell Aldean's song-writers took some inspiration from it for "Small Town". Shapiro's nazi rag DailyWire did some "Exclusive" interview with him a few years(ain't no way I was giving those nazis at DW money to read that trash)and I hope he does not get a sudden rise in popularity, that's the last thing we need.
Rae Lynn actually followed me on Twitter today no joke, despite me calling her out for performing for Turning Point USA, I wouldn't say she's gone full MAGA like John Rich of Big and Rich/Lonestar has as most of the time she's not whining about things like CRT or LGBTQ people like he is, it's mostly just vague "southern pride" platitudes.
