The Good

"Old Me (New Wig)," Molly Tuttle: Haven't given Tuttle's whole "pop" album a spin, but this one certainly scratches a particular Legally Blonde OST/'90s Sheryl itch! — NW

“Bar Star” video, Carter Faith: First, a bit of backstory: Carter Faith, one of my current favorite new country artists (future superstar IMO), once released a song called “Billy Bob Thornton” where she sort of slant rhymes “Thornton” with “important” in the country-ass way she delivers it, which is brilliant [see last week's picks! :) - NW]. Hence why it’s extra funny to see him show up in this honkytonk tune about loving a man who is a bit of a mess: “bless his liver and his honkytonk heart.” So much talent and a slanted sense of humor, a perfect combo. - MM

Peace, Love and Cowboys,” Lainey Wilson: I’m usually resistant when it comes to these country “let’s just all get along” kind of songs. But it’s hard to argue with Lainey here (we do need more Willie, we do need more good weed!) and it’s dreamy, not lecture-y. Plus she sings the hell out of it. - MM
