“Guilty,” O.N.E The Duo: I came into this one already with an advantage, being a family band diehard - so the fact that this is a mother-daughter project caught my interest from the beginning. This is the first song I ever saw them play at a Black Opry showcase, which satisfied my other country music true love: murder ballads. Earl had to die, and apparently so did this guy. - MM

“Cool Little Bars,” Ashley McBryde: Sure, this song tackles a classic topic — the beauty of dive bars — but its creative production definitely sets it apart. Warm and acoustic in an unpredictable way, it’s actually a convincing homage to the endangered species that is the intimate, inexpensive, not-corporate bar rather than just one more forced list song where dive bars are a credibility box to be checked. — NW
