The Good
"Hello Stranger," Kelsey Waldon ft. S.G. Goodman: Kentucky stand up! More groovy, twangy goodness, another duet — just a winner any way you slice it. You'll get chills when the harmonies hit! — NW [I also wrote up this song before I knew Natalie did! But I love it so much I’m including my thoughts too. This preview from Waldon’s upcoming album of bluegrass and country covers, There’s Always a Song, is downright excellent - a little trippy, a little traditional, just a perfect combination. John Prine once said he could listen to Waldon sing the phonebook, and so could I. - MM
"Thelma & Louise," Meg McCree and Harper O'Neill: T and L are tough models for a song about friendship for…well no spoilers but, for reasons! Still! This song is aggressively fun and groovy and catchy and it had me dancing the first time I heard it — and sending it to my best friends. — NW
"One More Night," Miko Marks, The Resurrectors and Tré Burt: I mean it's Miko Marks, so obviously it sounds just fantastic; adding Tré Burt to the song gives an extra dimension of goodness. So lush, rich and full of feeling, it's like a breath of fresh air for your ears. — NW
