Converting the Skeptics: A Curated Guide to Reba

She's even more than a single mom who works two jobs, loves her kids and never stops!

Welcome back to Don’t Rock the Inbox! This is the second iteration of one of our new schemes: Instead of having new (and some old) country round-ups for paying subscribers every Friday, we’re moving those round-ups to every other Friday so we can offer themed, curated guides coupled with a playlist. We have a lot of fun plans for this feature, which are for paying subscribers only. Sometimes we’re going to have artists weigh in with us — stick around, it’s gonna be fun. Subscribe to get access, and listen along!

So it’s obviously been Reba’s world and we’re just living in it for a minute now — the Super Bowl, The Voice, the memes, Reba (the show) coming to Netflix next month (although it’s been on Hulu all this time), the esteemed podcast Rebawatchables (I kid, I kid… but if you for some reason want to listen I recommend skipping the first three episodes...we were podcasting under the influence on Election Night 2020).

ANYWAY. Reba is a phenomenon whose influence has stretched far beyond music, so much so that when I went to see her in Fort Worth the (very young) security guards were like, “Oh yeah, I watched the show.” No! Reba is a vocalist first and foremost!! Her onscreen charisma comes a very close second! So for you, I offer my guide AND a curated-and-sequenced-but-still-7+-hour playlist of my favorite Reba songs that I think will convert any skeptic once and for all.
